Equi-Therapy™ UK

About Myself

Since the age of five I have lived and breathed around horses, and having owned them for most of my adult life, I have developed an extensive knowledge of the relationship between horse and rider, and what influences their performance. Equine Sports Massage was a natural progression from my Personal Training and Human Sports Massage qualifications.

For many years I'd had a highly paid role as a Personal Assistant within a top International Company. Due to expansion and relocation I was offered redundancy. Having been at the top of my game for several years I decided that I would take some time out and learn something new. Having regular commitments, like everyone else, it was a brave thing to do so late in my working life.

I retrained and qualified as a Personal Trainer & Sports Therapist with Premier Training International (now Premier Global) and have never looked back. After building a good human client base I decided to further my career into the equine world. I chose to train with Renee Castle (Active Foundation) and embarked on a grewling three month training course. I passed my final examinations with flying colours and I now have the career I always dreamed of!

In 2004 I took over the teaching of the Active Foundation Equine Massage Diploma Course & Equi-Therapy UK was born. ETUK has now trained over 100 Graduates who are all currently practising throughout the UK & Worldwide. In 2006 the Equine Massage Certificate was developed to offer horse owners the opportunity to learn basic massage techniques & stretching to benefit their own horses. Both the Equine Sports Massage Diploma & the Equine Massage Certificate are now well recognised & are now being taught throughtout the UK & Internationally.

I'm lucky enough to have two home-bred Welsh Section C ponies which I compete with over long distance riding & a little dressage for fun. I really enjoy these disciplines as they are a true test of human & equine unity.

I believe a whole new world has opened up for me and the horses I treat, and through caring owners, trainers and riders, I am sure the life of the equine can be far more productive and less painful!
